EKEN initiated the dialogue with Verra as early as 2023 to help enable a high-quality carbon credit market in the Nordic region — and the work is now taking an important step forward. Verra, one of the leading global standard setters for carbon credits, has opened a public consultation on a revised methodology for forest-based carbon credits (VM0045) under its Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program.
For us at EKEN, this marks an important milestone. Our engagement has been instrumental in driving the revision process, and we have been a key part of the technical team developing the methodology.
