Eken signs agreement with the Church for forest carbon storage

Eken Financing AB gives SBTi companies the opportunity to invest in multi-year high quality offset projects with immediate climate impact and pays forest owners to profitably transition towards forestry practices with higher commercial, social, and biological value. 

The purpose of the Swedish Church´s agreement with Eken is to increase the timber share at the leasehold property by extending the rotation period by 30 years, thereby improving carbon storage. 

Eken will offer the carbon credits generated by this process to SBTi companies. 

”The Swedish Church demonstrates great foresight and the potential for financing improved forestry through climate investments,” says Mårten Mattsson, Forest Lead at Eken.

Kjell Ormegård, Board Member, with over 35 years of experience in the finance sector, including senior positions at Handelsbanken and Alfred Berg.

Clein Johansson Ullenvik, Board Member, an experienced CEO and business-oriented leader.
